knitty winter 2007!

I finally got around to digging through the new Winter 2007 issue of knitty and now have a few obsessions…

I want to knit Dahlia with Plymouth Galway

And oh my gosh!  Stardust is so darn cute, and
we have a great Gossamer color in stock for it!

And what’s this?  Another Disco Lights pattern?  We just can’t get enough of this yarn huh girls.

Want to see one of the cutest puppy photos I’ve ever seen in my life?  Check out the pattern Cables + Bits

And finally, I’m not really a shawl knitter, but the Jeanie pattern is amazing.

To take you back to knitty Fall 2004, remember the Hallowig?
here is mine from back in the day

One more thing on this chilly November night… I wanted to share some photos taken at kpixie from the last year that never made it to the website, for one reason or another.

Eye candy!  You can “steal” these photos for your blog if you like.

back to blogging

hello from kpixie world headquarters!  ;-)

Its been busy since the last time I wrote.  We moved the kpixie website to a more powerful server and updated our shopping cart software.  So you might notice faster browsing and a new layout.  It took many lady-hours to get it going and we hope you enjoy kpixie 2.0 as much as we do.  So, here are some things I MUST show you that flew under the radar while doing website work.

First up, my absolute new favorite yarn, Karabella Merino Superwash.
superwash-three-darks.jpg  superwash-two-yellows.jpg  main-superwash.jpg

This yarn knits up as a worsted or aran weight, it has a very subtle sheen, duller than Aurora 8, which is good.  Has a mild merino halo and the twist is just gorgeous.  Jessica’s daughter knit this yarn into mittens as a dk weight and they look so great.  A totally versatile SUPERWASH merino, love it.

I’ve so far made two hats with this yarn.
Both of them cabled beauties, my favorite hats to date.

Next up is Karabella Lace Merino, in which we have have 5 more colors coming this week.

You want 255 yarns of fingering weight merino at a great price point??
You got it!  Gorgeous colors, perfect twist, great for lace shawls and socks alike.

hiyahiya-ss32inch5us.jpg  HiyaHiya is here!
These needles are great, tried them for the first time at TNNA this June.
The stainless circulars are at a great price and the joins are close to perfect.  The bamboo double points are impregnated with resin to keep even the small sizes strong.  We’ve got more sizes and styles coming, don’t be afraid to ask us to order a size you need!
Browse the needles category to find the HiyaHiya’s you’re looking for.

Also, we’ve got some Mama Llama hand painted in stock!

Thats all for now.  Keep knitting!  The holidays are fast approaching… then it’s back to knitting for ourselves, right?!  ~missa

Tilli Tomas Aspen

main-aspen.jpg Tilli Tomas Aspen is here!
This yarn is a mystery, I don’t understand how Tilli Tomas created a merino yarn that feels like a cross between cashmere and angora… It’s a very stunning yarn.

Great for small projects like hats, scarves, mittens, baby items.  And awesome for sweaters too.  Next-to-the-skin wearable.

It’s sister yarn, Flurries, in in the queue for photography… hold tight!

And here is a photo of the Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino
super up close,  click for a larger view!

The above two yarns are a great addition to the shop, one ply knitting at its best.

The new yarn Suri Merino is here!

Blue Sky Alpacas created a new one ply yarn that is all of these things:
super soft, gorgeous halo, a nice heavy weight to the yarn for a great drape, amazing colors, luxury fibers, and it’s a dk weight!
And all of this in large 100 gram skeins.

here are my four favorite colors
suricolors3.jpg

So, with that being said, go grab a skein!

We also received four new colors of Blue Sky Alpacas Melange.
(scroll to the bottom of that page, its the last 4 on the list)
