a classic cabled beret in worsted wool.

2. Scare Isle Tam
a gorgeous example of “scary” colorwork
The new St-denis Boreale is an almost perfect substitute for Spindrift
Plus, Spindrift is only 115 yards, Boreale has 225 yards!  so you’re sure to have plenty of yarn

Note: we decided to replace the orange with red, since red is used sparingly in the pattern, and hey, lets save some money! and we are using the white in place of the very light heather that is used, again, a money saver)

These new all-weather yarns are great cotton blends to fill in that gap of “I like cotton, but don’t like knitting with it.”  And the pattern collection is amazing.

The new yarn called Birch is a cotton and silk blend that must be touched to be believed. It reminds of Cashmere Canapa, a very soft feel for a cotton blend.

River is a worsted weight soft cotton that knits up light as a feather. Great Spring colors!

The Voile de la Mer was on my list of must-knit-with, a laceweight yarn in a blend of silk and seacell.  Tilli Tomas has done it again, a great addition to her line of hand dyed yarns.  The look and feel of this yarn reminds me of heirloom shawls and knitted lace.  Glides smooth on the needles, a slight halo of seacell to fluff up the stitches, gorgeous colors in muted tones and brights.

We also have Plie and Fil de la Mer.
They both knit up at the same gauge and have a similar look,
but one is 100% silk and the other is a silk and Seacell blend.

Also, I just finished a lacy scarf pattern for Disco Lights, it will be free with any Tilli Tomas purchase. This yarn was SO much fun to knit with… and the sequins are surprisingly comfortable to wear around the neck. Love it!
