New Store Name

Hello girls!

We wanted to let you know about our new store name.

It’s a small change, from knitpixie to kpixie.
We’re still the same woman owned and operated company,
Jessica and I are still here for you!

We were approached by a large corporation that threatened a lawsuit unless we changed our name. They thought our store name was too similar to theirs. We did not feel that anyone would confuse the two stores, but to avoid a lawsuit we decided to change our name. We chose the knitpixie name carefully and were very attached to it, but we think the new name is just as cool!

We will be located at the new domain name (kpixie.com) by November 15th!
All newsletter subscribers will be notified when the change is made,
and you will still be able to reach the online store by typing in knitpixie.com

wow, i’ve never heard of the larger corporation. name changes are difficult…especially when you’re attached to original names. i’ll probably always think of the website as “knit pixie” even if it’s no longer called by that name “legally.”
come to think of it, the name change is reminiscent of sean combs’ change from “puff daddy” to “p. diddy”; you’re going from “knit pixie” to “kpixie.” haha…
props to you girls for dealing with it gracefully, though. :)

I can take a stab at which company that is. So lame! One is a pun on something involving lice and the other is not!

wow, that is wild. I hope the large company is not one I just ordered from and is the first thing that pops into my head that sounds even remotely close. Harumph!

OK, well, *that* irritates me, because I expect better of people in our world of yarn. It’s not like anyone with half their stem cell working couldn’t figure out that you-both AREN’T THE SAME COMPANY. Urf.

Now, a word to the wise: just don’t go decorating your online shop with lots of pictures of yourselves, posing with yarn and llamas and all your knitted patterns, because THAT is about enough for me to sue for mental anguish & suffering.

Best to you, and at least you kept “pixie” because that’s the cutest name ever.

Man, this really irks me. I don’t even want to shop at knitpicks anymore. It just reflects poorly on them. You guys are dealing with it great, keep up the good work! Your site is one of the best online knitting stores :-)
